After our perfect visit in Homer, it was time to go back to Anchorage. We bid goodbye to our cottage and the spit and headed back on the Sterling Highway for our 4 hour drive.
One last shot before we left
Views on the way
I believe this is Mt. Iliamna, which is volcanic
We also stopped in Ninilchik, to try to catch the bald eagles which was a fail, both times. We did however find this restaurant, which of course, my dad wanted to buy. In true CM form, he was going to fix it up and open it's doors. My dad's food is that good that I think people would drive all the way to Ninilcick to eat his food.
Some self-timer action at the new restaurant :)
Next up, stops along the Kenai River
You can't make this beauty up, just so breathtaking!
Another stop
We also stopped at the wildlife conservation center between Whittier and Girdwood.
Brown Bears!
A Lynx!
Elk!
At this point, we were killing time so we could introduce me parents to Double Musky, which was very reminiscent of our trip to New Orleans in early 2012 together. My parents loved the food, and as you can imagine, this just fueled the fire for my dad's desire to open a restaurant!
Stay tuned for more adventures!
