Holy Cow, we rented an RV!

Since my parents booked their trip to come to Alaska in late June, I had it on my list to plan their time while they were here.  In addition to Homer, we decided to take a trip up to Denali National Park.  It's always been my dad's dream to rent or buy an RV and drive cross country.  My mom has always been less than thrilled with is idea.  So, when we figured out we were going to Denali, Eric and I brought up the idea of renting an RV and trying it out.  My parents loved this idea so we went forward with it.  Unfortunately, everyone else in Alaska wanted an RV too.  So, it was a real challenge to find an RV for rent.  I ended up calling one place twice, and as luck would have it, someone cancelled and we were in like flynn!  Sweet!   So, we rented a . . . 30 FOOT RV!!!!  My God Parents laughed and laughed when we told them.  We joked the rest of the time that it was like a reality show...  or city slickers!

There was a bit of confusion with the RV... as the saying goes, the best laid plans!  We were meant to have 1 queen bed in the back for my parents, however we ended up with 4 twin bunk beds!!!  My parents were such good sports about it though and we had a blast regardless.   We'd packed everything ahead of time and by the time the RV finally was at the house (5 hours later), we were off!

I really dropped the ball on taking pics of the actual RV.  Big foul on my part.
Here are a few..
CM taking the reins and driving the entire 6 hour trip each way!!

The cool thing about an RV is you can have a drink in the back while sitting on the couch :).
 Houston, Alaska!?

As I said, we got there much later than anticipated due to the RV place making quite a few mistakes, so by the time we arrived at the camp ground, it was dark (! nearly midnight).  Luckily, we'd made reservations ahead of time and we were able to find an open spot (not our assigned spot) to park in for the night.

Woo Hoo!  We'd arrived in Denali National Park, and we were ready for our adventures!!
