August 1, 2011

Eric and I haven't been home for our birthdays in what seemed like years so waking up to a delicious french toast breakfast compliments of my mom,  and flowers and balloons from my dad- such a wonderful treat!  Thank you, Mom & Dad!!!

My mom's birthday was the 21st of July and Eric's is the 5th of August so we were celebrating their birthdays as well!

My parents had a lot of work going on at the house while we were home so my dad had men outside working and, of course, they requested my dad's delicious sandwiches.   He's rocking out his BBQ shirt and cut offs while whipping up some of his signature grub.

Love these dogs, Combo and Aldo!!!!!

That night we had a little celebration at my parent's house.
My brothers came up from the city for the occasion with Alex, plus Kathy and Mom and Dad P, Lex, Becks & Mel...it was so nice to have so many people in one place.  Thank you everyone!!

Two of my besties, Becks and Mel-the mystery guests :)  Thanks so much for driving from Albany, Becks!!!

Dinner on the porch.  My dad made my favorite...pesto!!  It was absolutely the most delicious pesto he's ever made!!  And of course, ribs for everyone else :)

Eric's cake for me and my mom...Lexy said he doesn't get points for the penmanship, but double points for the taste, and I agree :)

We didn't totally appreciate the "Over the Hill-Too Old to Count" candle...thanks Er!!!

Ice cream cake from Mom P-Yummy, yummy, yummy!!!

We also ended up giving my dad his Father's Day gift as it was the first time we were all together....the most amazing cutting board, ever!!!  Aunt Patti got us one as a house-warming, and we knew that we had to give my dad one, too.

Gift and present time!  Alex, JC and Jedd got us the most hilarious cards!

Collapsable picnic basket for our next time at St. Arnold's Brewery!

Eric will tell me this is a "typical Jennie" face...and I guess I can't disagree..

It was wonderful to be able to be home and celebrating birthdays with everyone.  Made for a memorable 30th on my part.   If my next 30 years are as great as the first 30...well, there'll be no complaining from me...thanks for celebrating with us!!

Amelia and Brian are married!- July 30, 2011

Eric's cousin Brian and his wife Amelia had a beautiful wedding on July 30.  It was a perfect evening wedding at a gorgeous venue in Northern Jersey called the Rockleigh.  It used to be a country club but now is exclusively a wedding venue.

We all were staying at the same hotel so we hung out in the afternoon and then took the shuttle over to the wedding.  We had lots of time to take photos.

After the wedding was over at 1:45, we headed back to the hotel.  The hotel bar for some reason (even though it was in NY) closed at 2:30...but the party didn't stop there,...thanks to Dad P's awesome planning skills, we had an after party complete with cold drinks and food.

It was a wonderful event and so great to see everyone for the first time in a year!
Congratulations Amelia and Brian!  We wish you many years of happiness together!
