Eric and I had been anxiously awaiting our upcoming trip to Hawai'i. After the move from Houston, we really wanted to go away for a few days before starting up in Alaska, but time really did not permit. When our good friends we know from Qatar, Lauren and Rob mentioned they'd be in Hawai'i for a week during their summer break and we should join them, we jumped at the chance for some fun in the sun with our dear Canadian friends we hadn't seen since our move from Doha.
We left on a Thursday afternoon and were cheerfully greeted by the Alaskan Airlines flight attendants with Hawaiian music, flowers in their hair and an over all "island" vibe on the plane.
Each of these "menus" were placed on the seats...complimentary Mai Tais?! I'm in! Sit back, relax and fly just a little over 5 hours to the beautiful islands of Hawai'i!!!
Rob is a big Guns n' Roses fan so Eric came up with the idea of dressing like a band member...shirt, wig and all. We searched high and low in Anchorage but ended up having to order online. It was so worth it! The face on Lauren and Rob as they drove to pick us up was PRICELESS!!! They were laughing so hard, and so were we!
Laughing so hard! Hilarious!!!
We arrived around 6pm but by the time we got to the condo, it was nearly 7:30 so we just hung out and caught up after not seeing each other for over a year.
Lauren's aunt and uncle own a beautiful condo right in Oahu so we are so lucky to be able to stay at their place with them. It's a two bedroom, right on a canal, with views of the water. Ahhhh! Just heaven!!
