While we love living in Doha, heading back on July 15th, in the middle of the summer, just a few days after the cloud nine high of our wedding, being around all those we love, was just a bummer. We arrived back after a 13 1/2 hour flight and literally had one day together before Eric had to go back to work on the 18th. I was absolutely dreading this day. Mostly because I was going to be alone. All of my friends were gone for the summer and there wasn't a whole lot to do outside because of the heat. Luckily, time passed way quicker than I had imagined and one of my friends ended up being back in Doha around the same time as me.
The end of July passed by so quickly and before we knew it, our birthdays were upon us. Eric's birthday is 5 days later than mine so we usually celebrate together. We decided to go out the night before my birthday since Eric is up early for work. We decided to go to the Four Seasons for cocktails and dinner. We went to the cigar bar first where they were serving delicious "World Cup" inspired appetizers and cocktails. Then we enjoyed a lovely meal at an Italian Restaurant called Il Teatro. It was a great evening. Eric always reminds me on the day after my birthday that for 4 days of the year, he is 3 years younger than me! I guess I'll never win that argument :)
